    Star Trek with omy.sg

yes, once again thanks omy.sg for the tickets to the gala premiere of star trek on wednesday! my first time to have a mandatory check in (due to advanced nature of the preview) before a movie and i ended up having my entire bag with 3 handphones, a camera and a laptop safekept by GV. so basically i went into the theatre feeling naked.

to be honest, i'm not a fan of science fiction films, as in those related to space and vacuum. in fact, i seldom watch them. i remember watching star wars in an almost vacant theatre back in my childhood days and i couldn't sit still and ended up running around with my brother. it's not the film's fault of course, it's me who don't know how to appreciate such movies. so how does star trek fare? it just validates to me that science fiction films are indeed not my cup of tea. but here are some stuff which got me watching:

i kind of like this character spock, acted by zachary quinto, whom i remember him as sylar from the famous american science fiction television drama series, heroes. here i am sounding contradictory because i just said that i'm no fan of science fiction and yet i watch heroes, which happens to be a science fiction series. well, it's just different! anyway, i think spock is one interesting character, the way he is struggling to deal with his emotions and how he tries not to let emotions overcome him. and i like his looks too! the hair, ears and eyebrows. well, the bowl-cut hair especially!

here's another character i like in the movie. when keenser first made his appearance in the movie, i was a little repelled but i grew to like him after that because he's adorable! here's the cartoon version of keenser:

you guys should look out for him in the movie. i don't think he has a line in the movie, does he?

i guess one of the scenes which got me on the edge of my seat is the part at the snow planet. this scene is actually rather out of the blue, but i'm glad they put it in. look out for those monsters! cool!

ok, i just know that this is actually the eleventh film related to star trek! and yet it's my first star trek film! i told you i'm not a fan of such movies already! anyway, the movie's really chimology as i was trying my best to keep up with the storyline. but they had cool visual effects and i guess that's the selling point other than star trek fans reminiscing the characters coming back to life on the big screen once again.

so much of star trek, let's rewind to the moments before the movie.

here's me with J aka alba's new lenovo laptop after finding my way to great world city. i think it's only my second time being there. actually i don't really remember going there for the first time but the place just seemed kind of familiar so i reckon i had been there before.

we had thai cuisine at food junction and it was unexpectedly good! now i feel hungry looking at the pineapple rice i had that day! my my my...

J with her lemongrass chicken set (: but her prawn went for a walk and never came back.

i had cravings for dessert so i had it.

and i had my first house of the dead game at the arcade after so many years, all thanks to pro J. it's one refreshing experience! i never thought i would lay my hands on that gun again!

once again, thanks to omy.sg for the invite and also special thanks to J for accompanying me, if not my evening would have been idling at home.
